With Miley Cyrus' new rebel rocker girl look a lot of us were expecting a much edgier choice of dress for the VH1 Diva Awards. Of course, that isnt saying we were disappointed. Rather, the contrary! You gotta love Love LOVE that sexy bodycon look shes got going on. The pencil length fitted dress is from Omo by Norma Kamali. The ‘Alligator’ dress has the skin tight fit of a lot of the shorter dresses you see lately from Scala but a unique length that just isn't common on the streets.
The diamond side cutouts give what would have been a fairly standard "little black dress" a bit more pizazz. Paired off with the pointed Jean-Michel Cazabat pumps it added a city chic feel. Her jewelry was pretty minimal but what she did wear was one interesting ear cuff by Lorraine Scwartz Jewls that seems pretty true to her personality.
So we went hunting through our NY boutique to see if we could capture her look with some of the prom & evening dresses in the shop and here are some of the styles we came up with:
First up is the Scala F22149! This floor length evening dress captures the fitted silhouette and simplicity of the Diva's dress choice but lacks the fitted pencil length. Rather it flares subtly and cinches at the waist with a wide belt. It also has an open back with black mesh overlay. Pair it off with a pointed black pump with a cap toe and your set!
Jovani style 6637 was worn by celebrity style icon Ashanti during the Angel Ball - fitted and with long sleeves. One side has this textured sequin thing going on thats pretty cool as well. Though again, so hard to find anything in that length Cyrus is sporting!
In the shorter arena of course you have things like
I think Miley Cyrus could get behind these hot cocktail dresses.
Both Atria dresses on the right are made of this skin tight lycra
that mimics the look of latex pretty convincingly. The long sleeves
and open back just give it extra personality. Pair it off with a silver
metal spike choker like:
If you want to get Miley Cyrus' rocker girl fashion style!
And how about some hair inspiration for those feeling bold?
